  Please be vary wary about purchasing any furniture from Rise + Shine Highpoint (Maribyrnong). I experienced possibly the worst customer service from a retailer in my life.
  
  Right from the moment I entered the store and was rudely ignored by the manager, my intuition was urging me to turn around and walk out Rise + Shine Highpoint. But, out of the corner of my eye I spotted some bedroom furniture that fitted my style and need so I stuck around. First major mistake.
  
  The sales process was relatively good as the gentleman that quoted us wasn’t the manager and tried his best to offer us a good deal. Upon purchasing the queen sized bed and two bedside cabinets, we paid a deposit and arranged delivery in a fortnight with final payment on the day just prior to delivery. Second major mistake.
  
  The white wooden furniture that was delivered was clearly floor stock. It had chips and scratches and was actually dirty with floor stock dust. The packaging had clearly been opened and then taped over. I immediately called the store and told them I wouldn’t be accepting this furniture and I wanted it replaced with new furniture, free of chips, scratches and dirt.
  
  A week later new furniture arrived, hand delivered by someone who calls himself the Rise + Shine Highpoint warehouse guy. This is where the customer service takes a massive plunge. Upon offering new furniture, I inspect it carefully and noticed more cracks and chips, which the warehouse guys admitted to painting over to hide. The warehouse guy then tells me that this batch of furniture is from China and that the supplier had rushed production and skipped corners on quality due to Chinese New Year. Now knowing this, I respond with telling this store representative that I didn’t want an inferior product and that I’d like it replaced with good and new stock or I’ll have a full refund. He then responds with a barrage of personal criticism saying there’s no way I'll be getting a refund and that I’m simply too fussy. He told me that I should’ve inspected the floor stock more carefully and that if I didn’t want chips and cracks in my new furniture I shouldn’t have bought Chinese made furniture and that I should’ve spent more money and bought Australian made. This is all coming from the warehouse, deliver guy from Rise + Shine Highpoint.
  
  I refused to accept the sub-standard furniture and began seeking legal advice. After discussing this advice with Rise + Shine Maribyrnong management, they finally offered me a refund. Not before accusing me of being the most fussy person they had met and to quote them, they said “we’ll just sell it to someone else”. And to add salt to the wound, they initially shortchanged my refund.
  
  Moral of this story: If you value your time and money, stay away from the very dodgy Rise + Shine Highpoint (Maribyrnong).
  
  PS. Went next door to Bedshed Maribyrnong and purchased superior furniture with excellent, seamless, friend and honest customer service.
